New Kadampa Center Grand Canyon Retreat Near Flagstaff

The New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) is opening an international meditation retreat center in Williams, Arizona, for the public to study and participate in meditation programs in modern Kadampa Buddhism. A series of public talks based on Geshe Kelsang’s new book How to Transform Your Life will be offered from September 4 through 12 in Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, Phoenix and Tucson, followed by weekly classes.

The spiritual program is led by resident teacher Gen-la Kelsang Jampa, an ordained Buddhist monk and the deputy spiritual director of the NKT, a global organization founded by the internationally renowned Buddhist master and author, the Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who pioneered the introduction of modern Buddhism into contemporary society.

Jampa states, “Practical instruction and guided meditation help us to develop wisdom, cultivate a good heart of love and compassion and maintain a peaceful mind. Through this, we can solve our inner problems of anger and other painful states of mind, and make ourselves and others happy. “
