Yoga Rocks the Park Phoenix celebrates their fifth season with complimentary tickets for all five yoga festivals, beginning October 16 at Steele Indian School Park, in Phoenix. Yoga Rocks the Park is partnering with Namaste AZ, a local, community-based magazine founded by Sumit Banerjee, owner of Sumit’s Yoga Studios, which brings like-minded and health conscious Arizonans together. It also hosts the annual local Namaste AZ Yoga Festival. Southwest Institute of Healing Arts continues to be a national sponsor for Yoga Rocks the Park for two of the festivals on October 23 and November 6 at Tempe City Center.

The festivals will continue to be held on Sundays, but the yoga practice times have changed from 1 p.m. to 10 a.m. Registration and the Wellness Vendor Village will open at 9 a.m., with many “aumazing” local vendors for shopping before practice. Camp YRP for little yogis from 3-to-10-years-old opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes 30 minutes after completion of the yoga practice at approximately 11:30 a.m. so the entire family can participate in the festival.

Yoga Rocks the ParkInstructors from AcroBody, the first acro yoga studio in the U.S., will lead warm-ups, including partner stretching and basic acro yoga, from 9:20 to 9:50 a.m. before the regular practice. Then follows the regular yoga practice with local leading yoga teachers and musicians starting at 10 a.m. and closing with a gong bath meditation. The festivals close at noon.
