Brain waves are degrees of energy measured in hertz, which is a cycle per second. Spending too much time and energy in a conscious high-alert state can disrupt and deplete our subconscious vital intelligence.

There are four main brain waves: beta, alpha, theta and delta (see corresponding chart).
Beta state keeps us safe when we encounter danger. In a chronic high-alert or stressed state, the brain spends too much time in beta, rather than in alpha, which is a creative, alert and relaxed state. Long-term high beta states due to chronic stress can significantly overpower the ability of theta, which is more of a meditative state, and delta state, which is deep sleep. Long-term high beta states will also disrupt and eventually deplete the body’s subconscious vital energy. Our vital force, or vitality, is the body’s subconscious intelligence that, for example, knows how to take a piece of food and turn it into energy for a cell. This vital intelligence is in every living person and is needed to maintain homeostasis; the quantity of our vitality determines the quality of our lives.

When beta is dominant, we tend to be too externally focused, which causes us to experience stress and feel a lack of security in many areas of our lives due to our unique perceived thoughts of the outside world. To chronically expend conscious beta energy to figure out what to do to feel secure leads to a significant reduction of subconscious vital energy needed to run the show. Our conscious mind gets bombarded with information (true or false) and seeks to solve the problem. We tend to think the same thoughts over and over, reinforcing the same feelings over and over, day after day, and year after year. Over time, a pattern of conscious negative thoughts and feelings creates mixed and incomplete information that builds resistance in the body. The vital energy eventually gets depleted, which affects cellular potential, leading to “dis-ease” in the body.

We are literally solidifying our own thoughts and feelings.
You are the placebo of your own thoughts and feelings. Our conscious thoughts and emotional feelings create a real experience in every cell of our body through a cascade of chemicals and energy that is released in response to them. These chemicals and energy responses can become so addictive that they literally become you in the form of personality and your physical outcome. Our body cannot differentiate what is really happening to us from what we are telling it is happening through our unique thoughts, feelings and perceptions.

Our thoughts and feelings trigger chemical messengers called hormones and neurotransmitters and energetic responses through our nervous system to every cell of our body. These messengers of information trigger responses in our cells to focus on thriving or surviving. The cells then trigger genetic expressions to turn on or off based on the quality and quantity of those signals. The genetic expressions trigger the production of peptides, which are partial proteins that form new cells. The quality, quantity and types of these peptides are directly related to the quality and quantity of the chemical and energetic messages that are related to the quality and quantity of your thoughts and feelings.

There is hope! E-motion translates into energy (thought) in motion (response).
You can literally own your own mind and choose your own thoughts to support your desired outcome physically, emotionally and spiritually. You are a vital force of intelligent energy with the ability to heal and repair yourself with the right balance of nature and nurture. While negative thoughts and feelings, such as worry, fear and loss, can cause a dominant beta state, triggering cortisol and nervous tension, dominance of positive thoughts and feelings, such as love, peace and hope, can lead to more balanced delta, theta and alpha states, causing a relaxed response and the release of endorphins and dopamine.

Are you ready to improve your vital health from the inside out? TriVita Clinic of Integrative Medicine offers many natural and noninvasive services designed to kick-start a healthy brain and body. We offer diagnostic testing, such as heart rate variability, which identifies autonomic imbalances, and qEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) for identifying brain function imbalances. We also provide whole-person treatment using the Bredesen protocol to support brain function, and neurofeedback to rebalance brain waves. These noninvasive services help people who experience memory loss, mood imbalances, anxiety, insomnia, depression, ADD (attention-deficit disorder) and ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder).
