SCNM Medical Center Expands Acupuncture Offerings

With growing demand for acupuncture services, the SCNM Medical Center has added more appointments to accommodate the need. One of the most popular treatment methods at the center, acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, based upon channels of qi, or energy, running throughout the body. The channels, called meridians, are like rivers; if they become obstructed, imbalance and disease may occur. The imbalance can be corrected by inserting needles into acupuncture points along the channels.

Acupuncture focuses on the underlying cause of disease—an imbalance in the organs and meridian systems—and the condition of vital energy. Migraines, arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, back pain, infertility, fibromyalgia, and PMS are among the many conditions acupuncture is used to treat.

As a special offer, SCNM is offering Natural Awakenings readers an initial acupuncture visit for $45. Download a coupon at Scnm.edu/NatA812.
