Discover Naturopathic Discovery Day in Tempe

Discovery Day, a full slate of free activities designed to educate the community about naturopathic medicine and provide insight for prospective students, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 27, at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, in Tempe. Guest speakers, chair massages, acupuncture, herbal tea and protein drink tastings, book signings and more will be on hand during the all-day open house.

Speakers will discuss health care topics including acupuncture and natural pain management, natural healthy skin, minimizing stress and fighting disease with nutrition. Dr. Alan Christianson, Phoenix magazine Top Doc and author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Thyroid Disease, will discuss thyroid disease and sift through some of the conflicting information.

Dr. John Robinson, author of The Hormone Zone: Navigate Metabolism Towards Whole Health Transformation, will describe the various hormones and review ways people can get balance back in their bodies.
