Deva Premal & Miten Bring MantraFest to Mesa November 5

Deva Premal & Miten will be in Mesa on Tuesday, November 5, to bring the sacred spirit of India’s ancient mantras to audiences at the Mesa Performing Arts Center. The Mesa concert is part of the MantraFest 2013 Tour, the duo’s 25-city North American tour, featuring special guests Manose, Maneesh de Moor and The GuruGanesha Band.

The couple fell in love playing meditation music together at an Indian ashram and have been sharing their love of that music with eclectic audiences across the globe ever since. For Premal, who was raised in the mystical traditions of the East, the spaces between the sounds are just as important as the music itself. “Music is nourishment, but then you have to give yourself time to take it in so you can reap its benefits,” she observes.

Manose, a bamboo flute virtuoso from Nepal, is also featured on the couple’s latest release, A Deeper Light. “If ever we were to doubt that we are supported by the divine, we just have to turn around and look to see who is with us,” says Miten. “Manrose is a gift from God. Just wait until you hear it all.”
