Capturing The Value of Green Homes December 2

Homeowners and house-hunters alike will want to attend a ground-breaking industry panel event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., December 2, at DIRTT Environmental Solutions, organized by the Realtor’s Green Resources Building Council (RGBC) and the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Arizona Chapter, for residential homes in the Phoenix area. Representatives the Appraisal Institute, a local green brokerage company, and a green mortgage expert who will describe in detail the steps to earn the most money for a home with green and energy-efficient features. Sponsors include APS, SRP, Southwest Gas and GE.

The moderator, Residential Energy Efficiency Program Manager Tom Hines, manages the APS Energy Star for Homes program.  He has more than 20 years of experience with energy efficiency in the homebuilding industry, working closely with all of the Energy Star Builders in Arizona.

Other panelists include Sandy Adomatis, of Adomatis Appraisal Services in Punta Gorda, Florida. She is vice chair for education for Appraisal Institute and creator of the Green and Energy-Efficient Addendum. Chris Wass is the founder and principal of the Firefly Living real estate brokerage. Matthew Thorne is a senior loan officer for Nova Home Loans, specializing in renovation and energy-efficient upgrade loans for homes.
