Donate The Weight January 19

Linda Curry, a plant-based chef and owner of True Balance Wellness, is offering a new six-week program, Donate The Weight, in which participants get healthy and turn pounds of weight lost into pounds of food donated to feed those in need through the Arizona United Food Bank. The program kicks off from 2 to 4 p.m., January 19, in North Mesa.
Curry created the program for individuals that are ready to get into the kitchen and make some healthier choices for themselves and their families. Losing weight is not the main focus of the program, but is a nice side effect of consuming more plant-based foods. Why not donate those pounds to feed those that need it most in our communities? Although the program is not just for aspiring vegans, it does avoid animal products, including dairy. Hands-on curriculum includes plant-based recipes, raw food, juicing and smoothies, nut milks, vegan “cheez”, dehydrating and fermenting foods.
