Feb 28, 2014 08:57AM
Shane Wilson is accepting students for a meditation teacher training curriculum beginning March 27 through the Meditation Learning Center, in Mesa. The program draws from both spiritual traditions and Western mindfulness programs. Topics include the investigation and use of 24 different methods of meditation, the physiological and psychological effects of meditation, the function and effects on the brain, including hands-on use of the EEG, and much more.
Wilson, the program’s director, a certified meditation teacher and ordained Buddhist minister, blends his extensive teaching experience, knowledge of meditation and its related practices and his willingness to benefit others into his classes.
The teacher training is an opportunity for anybody wishing to become certified as a meditation instructor or for those wanting to expand their knowledge of meditation, and can be taken as a live course or online. Students will learn how meditation instruction can fit into different fields and work environments, as well as become a career choice on its own.
The Meditation Learning Center was established in 2004 and provides classes, retreats, teacher training, special events, and related educational opportunities for everyone.
Location: 1030 W. 9th St., Mesa. For more information, call 480-513-7747 or visit MeditationLearningCenter.com.
