Ballot Initiative Advances Sustainable Transportation Options

Proposition 104, on the August 25 ballot in the city of Phoenix, is a comprehensive transportation plan that will expand light rail and bus service and repair aging streets across the city. Prop 104 gives all of us more transportation choices, fights congestion as Phoenix grows and spurs economic development to create jobs.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton has called it the most comprehensive transportation plan in the city’s history. He thinks it is forward-thinking, ambitious and represents the future of Phoenix. He and other city leaders support the passage of Proposition 104 to ensure a modern, robust transportation system for the Valley.

It is expected that this plan will improve the quality of life for residents by expanding transportation options for seniors, people with disabilities and families with limited resources; increase accessibility to higher educatio with direct connection to more colleges and universities; alleviate congestion as population increases; and strengthen the city’s vibrant, urban core to attract more talent to the local workforce.
