Learn to Be Mindful

A Mindfulness Life Center is offering an eight-week introductory series at three different dates and times for convenience. Jennifer Martin leads the group from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays between August 23 and October 11; Jackie Price leads from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays between September 26 and November 14 and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays between September 27 and November 17.
Mindfulness is the gentle effort to be present in every moment. This time-proven practice provides a wealth of benefits related to health, relationships, work and every aspect of life. This eight-week journey of practicing mindfulness can minimize the effects of stress and maximize our capacity for happiness. Participants learn how to develop and maintain a personal practice and apply it in their daily life.
Topics include Attention and the Brain, Dealing with Thoughts, Stress, Responding Versus Reacting, Dealing with Difficult Emotions, Mindful Communication and Compassion. No experience is necessary. Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring a journal or notebook.
