Coaching [publisher's letter]

After reading the article on life coaches on page 26 in this edition, I can’t help but tell you a bit about my wonderful (and, as it turns out, necessary!) experience with my personal development coach.

I have always dabbled in personal development, and a couple of years ago I began watching various coaches on YouTube. They typically offer free sessions/videos so you can get a feel for their focus and style. One coach in particular, Brendon Burchard, really resonated with me, so I joined his coaching program—what was then HPX and has since become GrowthDay.

It has now been more than a year and a half since I joined, and I have to say that it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I love Brendon’s caring, positive, straightforward style, and his ability to provide incredibly pertinent and useful information—often, uncannily, just when I seem to need it.

People from all over the world participate in the GrowthDay community, but one thing we have in common is that we want to grow! And our focus can be whatever we want it to be—business/work, family, relationships, self—whatever area(s) of our life we are working on. It is an amazing community, and now, numerous coaches, along with Brendon, give live webinars each month. They provide incredible insight and information on different topics, based on their area of expertise. It is well worth what I feel is a very low price for this kind of coaching.

I truly believe that having Brendon as a coach during COVID-19 has helped me stay on the positive, forward-moving side of things, both in my professional and personal life. Participating in his webinars, listening to his podcasts, reading his books, and knowing there is a community of like-minded people out there striving for excellence even during this trying time has made a huge difference, and for that I am grateful.

I definitely recommend checking out Brendon Burchard, but please remember that selecting a coach is a very personal process—what works for me may not work for you, and there are many coaches and styles of coaching out there to choose from. Some of us like a more “international”-group style, while others prefer a more intimate one-on-one style. It’s worth taking the time to get the right coach, and it’s my belief that it’s worth having one.
